ETHAN: Hello Joseph...

Slasher Mania: How did you get your start/break in the business?

ETHAN: I took my beating through the Warner Bros. Messenger Department...

SM: Did you ever think or want to be involved in Horror movies as a kid?

ETHAN: I'm not sure where or at what age I started to become disturbed (laughs) but it's probably Carpenter's fault---his work was just too imaginative for me to walk away from---like in THE THING when Russell slams Norris into the shelves and Norris starts to have a heart attack and Copper starts to work on him only to punch his fists straight through the chest cavity and have them bitten off as Norris' gut becomes the jaws of the monster...then...after Russell hits him with the torch and lights him up his head twists and melts off---grows into an alien spider---and crawls away---I mean (laughs) WHO THINKS OF THIS SHIT---We'll obviously, Bottin, Carpenter and Lancaster but I mean to watch it....it's like DAMN! THAT'S IMPRESSIVE!

SM: Could you explain the premise for all the new people?

ETHAN: SIN-JIN SMYTH follows two federal marshals who man an isolated Field Station on the Kansas Boarder...one night they get an emergency call and have to report to the town of Shin Bone (moments after a tornado warning) to transport a mysterious prisoner with no identity...This story line is set against a Kansas legend that warns of the midnight appearance of the Devil every Halloween in a quiet Kansas cemetery...

SM: See that you have got Make-up & Monsters (creators of some of the most memorable creatures the past few years) one of my favorite Jeepers Creepers, your main character Sin-Jin Smyth is shrouded in mystery, are the cast members in the dark too?

ETHAN: Once the lights go down, we are all in the dark! And YOU'RE RIGHT---MAKE-UP AND MONSTERS do great work don't they?

SM: Speaking about cast members, who are you able to tell us that is going to be working on the film?

ETHAN: RICHARD TYSON (BLACK HAWK DOWN, KINDERGARTEN COP, THREE O'CLOCK HIGH) JASON HILDEBRANDT (BLACK HAWK DOWN) LEE VING (CLUE, BLACK MOON RISING lead singer of the punk band FEAR) JACQUELINE MOORE (of the WWE/WWF) JONATHAN DAVIS (Of the band KORN) LEWIS SMITH (SOUTHERN COMFORT, BUCKAROO BANZI, THE HEAVENLY KID) we also are in the contractual stage with a few others actors that I hope will surprise you!

SM: This is shaping up to be a film that goes against the ÒformulaÓ that Hollywood---

ETHAN: Fuck the formula!

SM: Do you think the public is ready for this? I can speak for myself; I am waiting for a movie to mix it up.

ETHAN: I would never do the thinking or speaking for an audience but I'm like you, I want something to mix it up and as a fan I'm going to make the movie I want to see first and hope---and it's just a hope---that someone else out there wants to see it too!!!

SM: For your personal taste, and what you cal tell us about this movie. What are your feelings about gore and nudity in a horror movie?

ETHAN: That has its place! But---not here---not this time around....here the action is very hard hitting and quick....with this film, it's not the actually cutting and killing that we want to get you...it's the mood...the isolation and loneliness that can creep up on you as you cross the Kansas Badlands at Midnight (On Halloween) with these characters...It's that SHADOW in the back seat...and the inescapable feeling that SOMETHING is watching and slowly closing in on you...

SM: With the recent push for all horror movie merchandise, would you be interested in having a company such as Neca, McFarlane, or Sota do a memorabilia line for this movie; or do you think that would detract from the character as some owners believe?

ETHAN: If there is a demand for it and somebody out there wants it---we give it to 'em! I'm not in charge...THE FANS ARE!

SM: With a Summer 2006 release planned, are you thinking about all the Blockbuster competition you might face? Typically horror movies don't do to well at that time.

ETHAN: No. I don't put much stock into what the Studios got planned---Neither does anyone else these days---We'll battle it out with a re-make, sequel or any movie made by a studio committee that's out there.... It's funny, once I announced that I would like to screen SIN-JIN SMYTH for the fans in a Kansas cemetery on June 6-06 (6-6-6) we received some requests from different production outfits not to do it! (Laughs) because of what they got coming out at that time...So maybe you should put that question to someone else!

SM: Decades after Friday the 13th, Nightmare On Elm Street, and Halloween, have begun; people still love them. Something about them just sticks with them. Five years from now, what would you want viewers of your movie to think back on and remember most?

ETHAN: I can only speak for myself and what I'll take to my grave is 'the against all odds effort' that went into making it... I will walk away from this knowing that I gave it everything I had and put everything I could on the screen for the audience. Working for the audience will always be the most important thing!

SM: Well that ends this first round of questions for you Ethan, again thanks for taking the time out of your busy shooting schedule. Good luck and I am rooting for you.

ETHAN: Thank you for your time Joseph.
